4 Foods You Should Avoid Eating At All Costs

Are there any foods that I should absolutely avoid? Absolutely! ­čÖé

aYou should normally consume foods that have been very minimally processed. This is because some processed foods might contain certain additives in them that could prove to be harmful to your health.

Here is a list of 4 foods that should be banned from your diet at all costs:

Anything that you get in a can is typically not good for you. Why? This is due to the fact that the resin linings that make up the tin can consist of bisphenol-A. This is synthetic estrogen, which can lead to several ailments, from heart disease to diabetes, reproductive issues, and even obesity. The acidic nature of tomatoes also results in BPA to enter your foods. Too much of BPA in the body is hazardous for health.

Instead of going for canned tomatoes, you should rather go for tomatoes that are sold in glass bottles or cardboard containers. These bottles and containers do not have a resin lining.

2. Corn-Fed Beef

beefFarmers these days are feeding their cattle with soybeans and corn. These help in making the animals fatter quicker. However, this also decreases the amount of nutrition found in the meat. A recent study found that beef that had been fed on grass, instead of corn, had higher amounts of vitamin E, CLA, magnesium, potassium, calcium, omega 3 fatty acids, and beta-carotene. They also had lower quantities of saturated fats that are bad for the heart, and inflammatory omega 6.

It is always best to buy beef that has been grass fed instead of corn fed. You can find these at farmers markets and specialty grocers. There will usually be a label on the beef too!

3. Microwave Popcorn

popcornThere are certain chemicals like PFOA found in the lining of these popcorn bags, which can lead to many issues such as infertility. When the animals were tested, these chemicals caused testicular, pancreatic, and liver cancer. Studies have shown that when the popcorn is micro-waved, the chemicals enter the popcorn. They then stay in our bodies for a long time and keep accumulating there.

So our suggestion… instead of buying microwave popcorn, opt for the┬átraditional popcorn and add seasoning and flavoring to it. If you have kids, this will be a fun experience for both you and them!

4. Nonorganic Potatoes

Root vegetables like potatoes have the tendency of absorbing pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides that enter the soil. Potatoes are treated using fungicides while they are growing, and then sprayed upon using herbicides later on. After digging them, they will again be treated using a harmful chemical. Chemicals. Chemicals. Chemicals! Crazy!

When possible, it’s always best to purchase organic potatoes, and any other vegetables, so you can reduce and/or eliminate your exposure to these harmful toxins!
