5 Simple Tips For Eating Clean

jess pregnanciesHave you ever wondered what exactly does it mean to “Eat Clean”??

If so, you’re not alone!! This is probably the most FAQ I get from women looking to start living a healthier lifestyle…. and it wasn’t long ago that I had the same question and was spending hours researching simple tips for eating clean.

As a working Mom with three kids, I know how busy life can get. But trust me, cleaning up your eating habits will dramatically improve your health.

After gaining way too much weight with each of my pregnancies and struggling with health issues and lack of energy most of my adult life, I knew I needed more than just exercise to lose weight and improve my energy and overall health!

That’s how I first discovered “Clean Eating”. I was so impressed with the changes in my body from following these simple tips for eating, that I have spent many years studying it and motivating others to change their own lives too! We all start somewhere and I feel privileged to be a part of your journey.

Here are my  5 Simple tips for eating clean plus a simple meal that I eat multiple times a week for breakfast or lunch that takes about 10 min to make (because who has time to be in the kitchen all day?). 

5 Simple Tips for Eating Clean:

1- Eat Whole Foods- foods that are the closest to their natural state as possible – (ie: One ingredient- veggies, fruits, seeds, nuts herbs, etc) & organic is best so there’s no toxic pesticides.

2- Dramatically reduce or eliminate processed foods from your daily menu (usually LOADED with sugar, salt and chemicals your body does not need!)

3- Drink lots of clean filtered water everyday (1/2 your body weight in ounces plus more if you exercise).

4- Eat organic, locally raised animal products (bonus- this helps a local farmer and keeps money in the local economy!)

5- Eat healthy fats daily (avocados, coconut oil, organic butter from grass-fed cows (1/2 of my calories per day come from these fats…healthy fat does not make us fat!!)

 

Here’s An Example of An Easy Meal that Follows these Simple Tips For Eating Clean:

 3 scrambled eggs (pasture is best, organic is next best) seasoned with Himalayan salt, pepper and turmeric (Nature’s Most Important Spice)
2 cups organic spinach, kale & chard sautéed in EVCO until it wilts down (about 2-3 min)
1/4 of an avocado fried in EVCO (or plain)
1 tomato, diced

Simple, right? Eating Clean does not have to be boring, bland and/or keep you in the kitchen all day! Get creative with whole foods and spices to add more flavor and make your own healthy recipes. I promise if you focus on following these 5 Simple Tips for Eating Clean the majority of your meals (progress not perfection!),  this can improve your overall health and energy or help you regain your health if you have been struggling.
