Therefore, bleached products such as chlorinated paper towels, bleached coffee filters, and toilet paper need to be eliminated from your home instantly. Instead, try searching for paper products that are free from chlorine.
3. Throw Away Antibacterial Sprays And Soaps
While antibacterial soaps and sprays might seem like a good idea, these products end up doing more harm than good. For starters, these products are made from an antibacterial substance called triclosan. While this substance kills bacteria, it can also create resistance in these bacteria. Also, when triclosans are mixed with tap water consisting of chlorine, chloroform is produced as a result, which is a carcinogen.
4. Replace Teflon Pans And Pots
While non-stick pans and pots might sound highly appealing, the chemicals that are made from could be bad for your thyroid, liver, and even your immune system. Therefore, it is best to stay away from Teflon and products made from fluorinated telomers and fluoropolymers. Instead, you should go with porcelain coated, iron, glass, or stainless steel pans and pots.
5. Be Careful With Air Fresheners
Most of the air fresheners are filled with hazardous chemicals, especially phthalates. Phthalates can cause hormone disruption and cancer. Apart from this, they can even coat nasal passages with methoxychlor, which kills nose nerves over time, and hence can contribute to an individual reducing their smelling abilities.
