As a coach, I see transformation pics all the time. People losing weight, getting ripped and get “beasty”… and all of them are inspiring and motivating for me to keep pushing forward with my own fitness journey. But every once in a while you come across a story that makes your jaw drop. This is one of those transformations. Oh, and he won $1,000 with the Beachbody Challenge and I’m pretty sure he has a great chance of winning the grand prize of $100,000!
Check out Nicholas’ transformation and story and be inspired.
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?I was honestly tired, both physically and mentally. some of the smallest tasks seemed to wind me. I was fed up with my body, I had always been big, and I always felt that i was taking up too much room where ever I went. I was also very insecure about my appearance. but I never really did anything about it. I constantly did nothing to better myself. What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey? The first thing that got to me was when I went to an amusement park and tried to ride one of the rides. I wasn’t able to because I was too big for the safety harness, but I didn’t really start there. I started my transformation while working at a hospital, they started a biggest loser competition for staff and I joined. I won the competition pretty much hands down. later in the year they started a second one, and I won that one too. What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge? My greatest challenge was probably the challenge of getting motivated to get up and do the exercises. P90X helped by giving motivation during the videos. “just keep pushing play.” So I did just that. I eventually began to love the exercise routines, granted I couldn’t do everything in the routines from the start, but I did my best and forgot the rest. Now i’m pretty much at the point where I can’t wait to start working out, and I let nothing stop me from doing them. Tony Horton inspired me to keep pushing forward, even if I don’t know him personally, it was enough to keep me going. Why did you choose this particular program?I chose P90X because I didn’t want to exercise in front of people and potentially get laughed at for trying to lose weight, I also wanted to gain muscle because I didn’t really have any before, plus more muscle means more calories burned, even if it weighs more than fat. I have a bigger built frame on top of that, so a program that didn’t focus on building probably wouldn’t have done too well for me. I am interested in some of the other programs now, but P90X works for me, it just has it all. What in particular did you like about the program you chose?P90X has some pretty awesome workouts, my favorite is back and biceps, I enjoy working my arms as much as I can, and ab ripper tops off the night. The best thing about the program is that it’s not trying to exhaust you from pushing too hard. It’s about results, not about getting hurt. You do your best and work up to doing more and more.Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievement
s are you proud of?I’m better, stronger, faster, and it only costed about $100.00 to start it off. I’m mostly proud of the fact that I don’t have nearly as much trouble finding clothes that will fit me. Before I was wearing 6x shirts, and pants that had some kind of elastic bands. I’ve dropped down to being able to wear 2x shirts and size 42 pants. I could wear smaller size pants, but I like to feel comfortable. How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?People who see me, and knew what I looked like before didn’t recognize me, my co workers all say that i’m going to blow away one of these days. I enjoy going out in public more, and I love exercise, sweating up a storm while working out does a world of good. I don’t plan on giving up exercise, it’s become a staple in my every day life.
