If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering what the heck P90X2 PAP Lower is and what can you expect? Well when I first put the P90X2 PAP Lower DVD in my player I had no clue what to expect and was honestly a little nervous. I had a brief sampling of P90X2 PAP at Summit in Los Angeles back in June, but I had no idea what an entire routine focusing on your lower half would look like. Well I got a crash course about 15 minutes into the routine.

P90X2 PAP – What Is It?

In the P90X2 workout guide, Beachbody describes PAP with the following quote – “P.A.P. stands for Post-Activation Potentiation, but all you really need to know is that it’s the cutting-edge technique that translates into performance. Two four-round complexes of seemingly straightforward movements don’t look like much on paper, but these workouts have destroyed the fittest athletes on the planet. The same ones who swear by them just as soon as they finish swearing at them. Just wait til you see what they can do for you.”


P90X2 PAP Lower – Strength, Explosion & Isolation

After doing P90X2 PAP Lower a few times now, it feels as if it’s kind of like P90X Plyometrics but amped up a but to incorporate some weights and some yoga (yes, I know how much all of you love your Yoga!).
In this routine you’re doing things like step-ups (onto a stool or bench), lunges, “Mary-Catherines”, a version of “hot-foot” as well as a side-bridge with your leg lifted (these are HARD!). I really like this routine because not only does it focus on the strength and explosive moves but also the isolation moves which strengthen things like your hip-flexors.

P90X2 PAP Lower – What You’ll Need

The P90X2 PAP Lower routine lasts about an hour just like all the other P90X2 routines. Here’s what you will need to get the most our of P90X2 P.A.P. Lower: two (2) pieces of tape (optional), foam roller or towel, plyo box (optional), weights and bands, 2 medicine balls (optional), water and towel.
