Top Reasons to Use Shakeology If You’re In-Shape

Without a doubt, the majority of people that I coach on a daily basis are looking to lose weight. One of the first questions that I ask these people is, “how is your nutrition?” For most people, the “diet” portion of their workout program is the hard part. So, one of the easiest solutions to help someone lose weight is by replacing one meal per day with a nutrient dense meal replacement shake. It’s a simple way to limit calories while still getting the nutrition that your body needs.

But what about about people who are already in-shape or thin to begin with? Is Shakeology for them? While I am not a nutritionist, I will tell you that, as a person who is in shape, I think that Shakeology can benefit these people too. Here’s how.

My #3 reason to use Shakeology even if you’re thin or in-shape – Simplicity.

This was one of the top reasons that I started using Shakeology over 18 months ago. After looking at Shakeology’s ingredient list I realized very quickly that I would have to use multiple supplements to equal the nutritional value in one shake. I’m a simple guy and I like things simple. So for me, Shakeology was a no-brainer.

My #2 reason to use Shakeology even if you’re thin or in-shape¬†¬†– Nutrition.

Just because you’re in-shape or “thin”, doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Believe me, I know. I was thin before I started P90X (6′ – 165ish) but I ate TERRIBLY. I literally lived at Taco Bell (Mmmm… grilled stuffed burritos). I ate so bad that I even had to have surgery to repair some damage in my GI tract! Yeah, it was that bad.

It can be a real challenge to eat healthy 80-90% of the time. It takes planning and preparation. Shakeology is a great tool to add to the toolbox to make sure you’re giving your body the best nutrition possible. With the 70+ ingredients found in Shakeology, I can be sure that I am putting quality ingredients into my body and giving it the nutrition that it so desires (and boy can you feel a difference).

And my #1 reason to use Shakeology even if you’re thin or in-shape – because I don’t want to get out of shape.

This is one of the driving factors of why I continue to do P90X, and other Beachbody programs, and use Shakeology. I never want to be “that Dad” who is too tired, too sore, or too out of shape to be able to do things with his kids. You know you’ve all seen him. The dad that can’t bend down to pick up the ball. The dad that comes home from work and immediately crashes because he is zapped of energy. I don’t want to be that guy.

So if I don’t want to be that guy, then I know that I need to take care of myself. I have to exercise, eat right, and use the proper supplements when necessary.

Bonus Reason for Using Shakeology

By using Shakeology, there’s a weird thing that happens to my mindset regarding food. On the days I have my shake, every other decision regarding food gets analyzed by my internal Shakeology meter. It’s as if I think to myself, “Will this food ruin the benefits that I got from my shake?” If the answer is yes, 9 times out of 10 I won’t eat it. It’s almost like another accountability tool.

So whether you’re someone looking to lose some weight, or you’re someone who is already in-shape, I would recommend incorporating Shakeology into your daily nutrition if you want a simple, nutritious shake that will help you get in, and stay in, great shape.
